Happy New Year (of Wedding Planning)!
You have a list of New Year resolutions some may be new others may be renewals of last year's goals that you are getting a fresh start on...well since we love all things weddings here at A-One Weddings & Events we compiled a list of Wedding Planning resolutions for the newly (or not so newly) engaged based on our clients and our wedding experiences:
1. I will not overload myself:

If you love to DIY then do it - just make sure to take on only what you feel confident you can accomplish. You have decided you need to gain muscle or lose weight that is fine, make small goals, meet with professionals if you need encouragement with training goals, or dietitians if you feel that would help. Again, the key is to take on goals that are realistic and that you are able to meet while maintaining your health.
2. I will communicate:
From wedding dreams to money needs, you have to communicate openly with those who will be involved in the wedding planning process. Maybe you will have to remind your mom that you don't like roses or perhaps you will need to compromise with your future spouse about which venue to book, a majority of the time just politely sharing your dreams and then taking a moment to really listen to their opinions will help everyone come to an understanding and avoid explosive arguments.

3. I will stay true to myself:
If you love bright blue and the Pantone color of the year is Fuchsia DON'T change your wedding color to match the "trend". The latest wedding magazine says, "Doughnut walls are at every wedding, do something different," - WHO CARES?! It is your day if you love a doughnut wall, well then you have a doughnut wall! You design your wedding around your own life, dreams, and reality! Keep your eyes on your budget and select a wedding that fits your style. The best part about New Year's goals is that you are not the only one setting a goal, so partner up with a friend and help each other stay on track so that you reach these resolutions.
Here at A-One Weddings & Events we would like to share two of our own New Year's Resolutions:
1. Cultivate our community:
From networking with our wedding and event partners to being involved in community activities, our first resolution is to enrich our community and stay connected.
2. Increase education and professional development:

Every year we attend at least two conferences in order to provide you with the best wedding information, designs, and, professional services. This year we plan on attending an additional conference and obtaining additional design certification through the Institute of Wedding and Event Design.
Now that our goals are in writing we are going to work on some specific action plans in order to accomplish our New Year's Resolutions! Because as Antoine de Saint-Exupéry said, "A goal without a plan is just a wish."
Happy New Year! May 2017 be a year of amazing beginnings!
